The Joint Venture "Azeri - Fugro" was established in 1995 between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and Fugro N.V., the Netherlands.

One of the main objectives for the establishment of the J.V. was utilization of local recourses using western expertise and technology to implement an improvement of the national Oil and Gas industry.

Being a part of Fugro group companies "Azeri- Fugro" J.V. provides to the Caspian Sea Oil Industry the full range of survey, geotechnical and environmental services required by the hydrocarbon exploration/exploitation industry, calling on the support of the whole Fugro Group to gain access to the wide range of specialist expertise and resources available within any of the Fugro Operating Companies.

As a part of the long-term program between SOCAR and Fugro, a geotechnical laboratory of Azeri-Fugro was set up in Baku to serve local Oil and Gas Industry in performing soil investigation.

The scope of activity of Azeri-Fugro: onshore and offshore geological-engineering investigations, coring, soil geotechnical testing as per ASTM and BS. The testing is performed in geotechnical laboratory equipped with the modern equipment. The geotechnical laboratory is ISO 9001-2008 certified, Certificate No.22033.
